Julie Breaux

My life as an artist started roughly six years ago after being inspired by the Jackson Pollock story.  I began by being creative, experimenting with different colors and textures and trying different mediums. My first works were of poppies and other whimsical flowers and still are today. Bold strokes and vibrant colors are a signature of my work.  I like using spectral opposites, reds and blues, that keep the eye entertained. I have been told that my work has an impressionistic flare and brings joy to the viewer.

I have participated in several art shows and many displays in Lafayette.  I created the artwork for the poster for the 2008 Culinary Classic in Acadiana, which was auctioned off for charity to benefit Stuller Place.  I donate other works as well to my favorite charities to help raise money for my community.

I am inspired by family and friends and South Louisiana Culture which all contribute to the artist I have become.
