Born the daughter of a fisherman. I naturally see the water as my home. Fishing is of course a natural trade in my family. A local to Louisiana, I grew up in Galliano taken by the majesty and wisdom of the sprawling oaks. Perhaps it is in my fondness of nature that I was and am able to grow as an artist. I began to paint because it calms my spirit and soothes my soul.
I've never formally studied art. Though, many of my family members are artists including my father and my brother. I venture to say that it runs in the blood. My craft is a collection of thought, a mirror of who I am. I leave my soul on display for the world to see. I attempt to convey the sensual, the sacred and the passion in each piece that I paint. Being a student of Reiki, I feel that I share certain relationship with my canvas. Much, if not all of myself goes into my work. My inspiration is the photographs I take, the still moment of a moving world and the beauty of it.
There is so much more than what lies on the surface of anything, more than what eyes can see. I feel nothing in this world is at face value. The energy behind a scene and within is what appeals to me in my life. I do hope these words can provide some insight to my work. But I ask that one take from it what they will.
